For this recipe you will need:
1. Pie shell
2. Almond cream
3. Apples
For the base of this tart, you will use a sweet crust. You can buy a prepared version from the grocery store or you can use my favorite recipe.
As to the almond cream, you will need:
100g room temperature butter
2 egg yolks
120g almond flour
100g caster sugar
Mix well and there you have it. If you don’t have enough time to make it the same day, this step can be made the night before since it refrigerates very well.
Spread you dough on the tart mole and prick it with a fork. Pour your almond cream on top and place your cutout apples slices on top of the cream. Before baking, whip a quick egg wash mixing 2 eggs, 2 tsp of milk and 2 tsp of sugar, then brush the entire pie.
Bake at 350F for 50 mins. Once ready, brush the apples with a jam and water mixture (2 tsp of apricot jam and 2 tsp of water) to give them a beautiful shine.
Serve warm or cold with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Enjoy 😉
